Goal Tip #1 – Put Your Life on Full Power
How to get off the ground
with your dreams
Do you look back sometimes and ask, “Where did the time go?”
Time can speed by very quickly while you don’t notice. That is why each day is precious.
One of the best ways to live with power is to take proactive steps to live each day to its fullest. Here are some tips on how to live your life purposefully.
Dare to Dream Huge Dreams
One of the most brilliant things you can do for yourself is dare to dream and dream big. Many of us feel we aren’t worthy of lofty goals, or we’re stuck in a certain lifestyle. We tend to fall into the trap of living small and simply surviving.
Is that you? It’s so easy to live small and not even realize it! I’ve been down that road myself.
But your life doesn’t have to be like that!
You can step out of that trap simply by allowing yourself to have big dreams and then following through by creating well-planned goals for yourself.
‘Why?’ is a Powerful Question
If you’re having trouble coming up with your dreams, consider what would make you happy. Just what is a happy life? Some would say that a happy life is a life of purpose or a life of loving relationships. What would you say?
Ask yourself:
• What purpose would you like to work on?
• What is it you want most out of life?
• Do you want a comfortable life for your family?
• Do you want to work for yourself?
• Would you like to travel?
• Are you searching for love?
• Do you want to improve your relationships?
• Do you want to learn something new?
Write down some of your deepest wishes and then ask yourself why you want them. Your answers may surprise you! This insight will serve as motivation along your journey to reach those dreams.
Shake it Up
A significant way to make progress toward living a life purposefully is to take risks. Try out some new activities that could be challenging.
Open the door to new opportunities.
You’ll be surprised at what types of chances present themselves when you shake up your routine. An unforeseen opportunity has the potential to completely alter the course of your life for the better.
And remember, baby steps are fine when you are taking on a challenge. You don’t have to take giant steps! It is pretty difficult to do that anyway. Baby steps are powerful, just keep doing them and don’t stop!
Naysayers Be Gone!
Don’t let negativity slow you down!
Along the way to living your dreams you’re bound to encounter naysayers. These are the people who criticize your dreams. They nip at your heels. They make you doubt yourself or tell you your goal is silly or too lofty.
Or they may be chronically critical, wearing down your self-confidence.
There are numerous reasons for such behavior. It could be jealousy, fear that you’ll leave them or regret that they never took risks of their own. Their reasons don’t matter.
What’s imperative is that you don’t let them bring you down! Keep chasing your dreams! Believe in yourself! Find people who encourage you.

Goal Tip #2 - Build a Bucket List
A Bucket List Can Help You Discover Your Goals
Do you have a bucket list?
If you’re not sure what such a list is, I’ll tell you.
Basically, it’s a list you create of all the things you’d like to do in your lifetime. It can include hopes, dreams, goals and wishes.
The purpose is to inspire and challenge you to do the things that bring joy to your life.
Keep reading to discover more about what a bucket list is, its benefits, and how to get started creating one of your own.
All About a Bucket List
The term “bucket list” comes from the phrase “kick the bucket”, slang for passing away. The list is made up of all the things you hope to do before you die, and the concept gained interest after the 2007 movie of the same name, starring Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson.
The items most people add to their list tend to be over-the-top kinds of feats.
Things like climbing a mountain, meeting a certain celebrity, skydiving and other such achievements can often be found on a bucket list.
However, your list is personal and doesn’t need to contain anything too outrageous. How about visiting that special tropical beach, riding that amazing roller coaster, or attending the Super Bowl?
Your bucket list items can also be more meaningful and generous, like organizing a charity bake sale, or teaching folks how to read.
Do You Need a Bucket List?
There are lots of benefits to having a bucket list.
This activity can truly be a catalyst for helping you to live a more purposeful life.
Writing out your fondest desires gives you clear perspective on what’s important to you and what types of things might be worth sacrificing for. A bucket list can act as a guide to help you formulate your goals and dreams.
It also makes fun a priority and helps you to enjoy your life more. A bucket list can remind you to make giving part of your life. It will help you move out of your comfort zone and the day-to-day grind. Hey, we all need to do that!
Ultimately, checking things off your list can be super satisfying, and create a log of some of your most amazing life experiences!
Bucket Inspiration
Starting a bucket list can seem challenging. It’s daunting to sit down and consider the kinds of things you might want to do.
This calls for some good old-fashioned brainstorming. Ask yourself some questions to get the ideas flowing and to clarify things.
Consider things you’ve always yearned to do, where you’d like to travel or what you want to see. Learning and education can be bucket list inspiration. Think about desires that appeal to your senses like food you’d most want to taste, types of scenic locations that appeal to you or music you’d love to hear.
Use these prompts to pick your brain and keep on going until you’ve got a substantial list started. You can always add ideas along the way.
Starting a bucket list will surely be inspirational!
It will provide motivation for living an exciting and meaningful life.
Go ahead and get started on yours today!

Goal Tip #3 - Start Your Engine
How to Take Action and Get Going
Deciding to take charge of your own life can be a tough task.
You may not even know where to begin.
You simply feel that you’ve been going with the flow for far too long.
Well you can stop reacting to life and start taking transformative action.
Ask Yourself a Few Questions
The first step to actively improving your life is to assess your current situation. Then decide where it is you’d like to go. If you’re feeling unhappy and that you’re not in charge of your life, ask yourself some personal questions to determine why that is – questions about:
• What you truly desire
• What you feel you are missing
• How you would like to live
• What is most important to you
• What keeps you up at night
• Why you might be bored
• What your obstacles are
• What is wrong with your life
• Things you feel you cannot change
Write down your answers and use them to spur you on toward making a plan for the future.
Then just continue to build on them until you’ve formed a good foundation for your planning.
Next, write out your personal goals. Start with a long-term goal, such as where you see yourself in five years, and then break it down from there.
Formulate a few short-term goals to complete over the next year that would ultimately lead you to that five-year mark. Plan steps for each goal.
A Winning Action Plan
Once you have a plan laid out, it’s easier to actually take some concrete action.
You can now begin to make the small changes that add up to a big transformation.
Now is the time to begin to do things differently.
Take a look at your lists of goals for inspiration. The steps you laid out to help you reach your goals are a good place to start. Do just one step from your list each day, and you’ll be actively making change toward reaching your truest desires.
You can look for other ways to take action, too. For example, try new things or meet new people.
Anything that takes you from your comfort zone and opens more of the world to you will rev your engine and give you momentum.
Pull Up Your Anchors!
Finally, it’s important to note that you will probably have to let some things, and some people, go in order to reach your goals.
Old habits may be keeping you stuck, so you’ll need to ditch them.
You may allow a few, or a lot, of distractions in your daily schedule. Start to delete them.
As I mentioned before, people can hold you back. There are likely to be some friends and loved ones who don’t react positively to the changes you’re making in your life. If you’re not ready to remove someone from your life entirely, perhaps just setting boundaries will suffice.
Take note of such anchors and pull them up so you can have smooth sailing!
That Happy Place
To sum up, keep challenging yourself, set some goals, and soon you will get to that happy place where you feel good about taking charge of your life every day!

Goal Tip #4 - Validate Your Goals
Make Sure Your Goals Say ‘Victory’!
Selecting personal goals is a major first step for success. Having a plan is one of the best ways to take action and to begin taking charge of your life.
Now I’d like to expand on that idea and show you how to put your dreams through a test. Passing the test will give your goals the best chance of succeeding.
Give Definition to Your Plans
We all know how easy it is to set objectives without follow through and then to find ourselves being disappointed that we didn’t fulfill our intentions.
This ‘failure’ may occur because the goal was not a good fit or it needed adjustment.
Setting Victory goals gives definition to your plans. Victory is an acronym. Each letter stands for a part of the goal-reviewing process. Following this process allows you to evaluate your goals and to make changes when needed. This test will help you set goals that fit your life well.
Keep reading to see what I mean and learn how to set a goal that is meaningful and workable for you.
Follow the Letters
V – Viable
This means your goal should be practical and realistic.
Ask yourself some questions to make things clearer such as what it is you want to accomplish, who else will be involved and what resources you’ll need to make it happen.
To be viable a goal should also be measurable so that you can track any progress you’re making or aren’t making.
So be sure your goal includes the answers to the questions “how much?” or “how many?”. For example, how many dollars do you want to earn each week from your side hustle?
Being able to measure your action steps helps to motivate you, lets you know when your current plan isn’t working, and provides you with milestones for celebration.
Also, make sure your goal is achievable. It’s good to set the bar high. However, choosing a goal that’s unrealistic is setting yourself up for failure.
I – In Line with Your Values
Is your goal one that fits with your values? If it clashes even just a little with your beliefs, you will be fighting yourself.
C – Challenging
Does this goal challenge you sufficiently? If it is too easy then your growth will be small. On the other hand if it is too challenging you will just end up frustrated. Aim for a middle ground.
T – Time Oriented
A goal shouldn’t be open-ended. There needs to be an end. Otherwise, you won’t know if you’ve succeeded.
A goal without a deadline allows you to shirk your responsibilities or to put forth too little effort. It’s too easy to procrastinate and then never achieve your goal.
Choose a deadline that seems realistic. This allows you to monitor your progress. You can always make adjustments later if need be.
O – Optimal
Your goal should be one that will truly benefit you and/or others.
R – Relevant
Will this goal fit into your lifestyle as it is now? Will your daily schedule accommodate this goal ? Will it mesh with your other goals? Also take stock of whether now is the best time in your life to shoot for this objective.
Y – Your Own
You might set a goal because you think it is something you should want or for other reasons that aren’t right for you. This type of goal is counterproductive and isn’t likely to make you happy.
Ask yourself why it is you want to achieve this goal, why it matters to you and you alone.
Adjust if Necessary
These are the basics of validating your Victory goals. If your goal passes the Victory test you are more likely to experience achievment.
If it does not pass, then adjust your goal or go back to the drawing board and choose a more workable goal.
In the end this process will be invaluable for your success.

Goal Tip #5 - Visualize Your Dreams
Harness the Power of Your Dreams
Visualizing your dream is one of the great tools for achieving goals.
Picture your life going as you’ve always wished. Envision that one thing you’ve long wanted to accomplish. Doing this can be quite motivational.
Dreaming and visualizing can also be overwhelming, though, and overwhelm can bring about anxiety. And one of the biggest cousins of anxiety is doubt.
We often let the memory of past failures block us from dreaming. We often let this concern hold us back from setting our sights high. This type of limitation can become a repeating pattern.
In order to live the abundant life you desire, it’s important that you dare to dream big!
Push your qualms aside and mentally place yourself in the center of a beautiful life. Then practice banishing your doubts each day.
Your Dreams Have Great Power
What you think is what you become. That’s a popular saying based in reality.
While it may seem like merely wishful thinking to believe you can achieve great things simply by envisioning them, there actually is some science behind this notion.
Dreaming and visualizing what you desire in life and actually incorporating small details into this picture is quite powerful when it comes to your brain chemistry.
Visualization has been shown to have an effect on neural pathways and connections.
If you repeatedly see yourself accomplishing something or obtaining your deepest desire, your brain will start to believe that thing is real! Then you’re more likely to act it out in your real life.
Now let me show you just some of the benefits of allowing yourself to reach for the stars.
The Benefits of Dreaming Big
Here are the incredible benefits of dreaming big. Read them over and see if you don’t feel motivated to dream and then to take action!
• As you allow yourself to dream bigger, your perspective starts to change to a more hopeful one.
• You no longer see things from a limited point of view. Instead, you see the big picture. Whereas you may have been a bit negative in the past, you now start to say ‘yes’ more often.
• You’re now able to see your life as having big possibilities. You may have thought you were being realistic before, but what you were really doing was keeping yourself stuck. When you didn’t have dreams, your world was automatically smaller.
Wishes Fulfilled
While dreaming big you can actually see all the potential of what the world has to offer!
You’re able to get a vision of a new fabulous life.
You’re open to the idea of self-improvement in order to achieve your desires.
You find yourself working proactively toward your goals.
You’re no longer stuck in the same old rut. You no longer live in a state of lack.
You see that lots of new doors can magically open for you just by thinking positively.
In addition, you’re likely to notice and meet others who are making great things happen in their own worlds, and they will motivate you.
So banish your anxiety and see a bright new future! You are worthy of your loftiest dreams!

Goal Tip #6 - Punch Out Your Fears
Fight with Passion!
Taking charge of your life can only happen when you free yourself from outside ‘enemies’.
Fear is one of the biggest enemies to living your best life.
Being afraid holds you back from
• trying new things
• having unique experiences
• taking advantage of opportunities and
• leaving your comfort zone in any significant way
Real progress only happens when you remove your fear obstacles. Here are some reasons to move past the fear.
1 Fear Debilitates You
Fear will limit so much in your life, if you let it. Fear limits your experiences, your fun, your relationships and your potential. It can cause great distress and unhappiness, along with regret.
Fear prevents growth and progress. It keeps you stuck in a rut with your wheels spinning.
Basically, fear takes away your power; don’t put this negative emotion in charge of your decisions. Rather take the actions you most desire in your heart.
2 Fear Will Leave You Exhausted
Being afraid to live your life fully is a waste of both your emotional and physical energy.
While it is possible for fear to give you a rush of adrenaline to push you toward action, this isn’t usually the case.
We tend to let our fears build up. Rather than using them as a catalyst for change, we allow our fears to stagnate and fester.
Giving into the fear is mentally exhausting because it causes a battle of emotions between desire and denial. You want to step out of your comfort zone, but you fight fear and wait to see which ends up winning. It can be physically fatiguing to engage in such a battle of wills on a regular basis.
3 You are More Powerful Than Your Fears
Let’s face facts – fear can’t be eliminated completely. You’ll probably always fight a battle with this powerful emotion.
However, that doesn’t mean fear has to win. You absolutely can learn to manage your fears. You’re more powerful than what scares you. Think of the worst-case scenario. It’s rare that what you’re afraid of can actually physically hurt you.
Taking charge of your life requires you to also take charge of your fears. It’s not an easy thing to do, but it is possible. And it’s worth it.
Therefore, it makes sense to find ways to push past the fears and go for the opportunity that awaits. If you let fear win, you are just kicking the can down the road. You’ll have to deal with that fear or a related one later. Why not try to conquer it now?
Ways to Wrestle Your Fears to the Ground
Whether you fear a job interview, a personal confrontation, or starting a new business, you can take action to defeat those fears:
• Analyze the essence of your fear. Figure out exactly scares you and why.
• Ask yourself ‘ What is the worst that can happen?” Usually the worst that can happen is not so bad.
• Plan your action with passion. Find the passion in the action you want to take. This will put your fear in the background.
• Understand that failure is good. Know that even if you fail, you will learn. And that is a positive outcome.

Goal Tip #7 - Ignore Critics
It’s Your Life – Seize It!
Much of the resistance to grabbing charge of your life comes from forces within yourself. Fear, insecurity, doubt and overwhelm can really keep you rooted in place.
Unfortunately, what others think and say can also have a big role in pushing your dreams down.
Some people hate change. The people around you may prefer you stay exactly as you are so you won’t rock the boat.
They might be afraid you’ll move on without them. Perhaps your success is intimidating to them.
Whatever the case, you can’t change them. Forget about them. Don’t be their victim. Keep charging forward and focusing on your own happiness.
Follow these tips to help you avoid letting the opinions of others keep you from pursuing your dreams.
Know Yourself
One of the most effective ways to combat worry about what others think is to truly take time to get to know yourself. Think through your values, priorities, interests and desires.
When you embrace what really matters to you, it’s much easier to forget about the opinions of anyone else.
Set Boundaries
Setting boundaries can be tough. It means actively choosing to put your needs first and not allow others to impose their will upon you.
When you realize it’s okay to say no and to put yourself ahead of others’ comfort, you’ll discover a freedom to pursue your own dreams.
Developing the ability to set boundaries can take practice, but it’s an invaluable skill.
Move Past Teasing
Intimidation is definitely something that can block you from going after what you want.
It’s easy to worry that others might tease you or laugh at you. One way to combat this issue is to ask yourself if it really matters.
Putting your detractors into perspective can truly help you to move past intimidation.
Most of the time, what others think of us doesn’t have any real effect on our lives at all, and it’s usually false anyway. In addition, they’re probably not paying nearly as much attention to you as you fear.
Stop Comparing
Comparison can be insidious. Feeling like you should be living up to what others are doing or achieving can definitely keep you from pursuing what you desire.
Don’t compare your life to anyone else’s. You need to have a rock-solid understanding of what you want. Remember your priorities and what matters most to you. Then live your life around those things, not what anyone else is doing or what they think you should be doing.
So forget about the opinions of others and seize your own life!

Goal Tip #8 - Your Amazing Goal Journey
Your Plan is Your Ticket!
We’ve talked about setting Victory goals. This is the foundation for successful goal-setting.
Following the steps in this process will provide you with a validation of your chosen goals.
Next, you have to create an itinerary for getting to your destination. You will map out your wonderful journey to achievement.
Victory Goes at the Beginning
The first step to making your game plan is to review your Victory goal-setting process to ensure that your ultimate goal is clear and that you’re comfortable with it.
Take a look at each question to determine that you have a firm understanding of your goal and that you feel good about it.
For example, if your goal is to buy a house, make sure this is something you genuinely want to do at this time in your life and that it isn’t something you feel pressured to take on due to societal beliefs or influence from others.
This review is so important to your success! You will know you are destined for goal victory if your goal is a perfect fit for you.
Think Backwards – Yes Backwards!
A strategy that helps in goal planning is to start from the end and work backward. This involves identifying your final goal and then making a list of each prior step you’ll need to take.
With your goal of owning a house, you’d begin by writing down your ultimate goal of purchasing the home. Think about what would come before that and before that and so on.
Keep going until you’ve got a good idea of all the steps required such as the amount you’d ultimately need to save for a down payment, how much you’d intend to save each month to get there, when you would begin actually shopping, how you’d choose a realtor to assist you and more.
Then look at your list from beginning to end to see if your new step-by-step plan makes sense.
Milestones – Your Tickets to Success!
Now that you have a tentative list of the steps you’ll need to complete in order to reach your goal, you can get even more specific by setting some milestones or deadlines.
Make your steps small enough so that you are able to enjoy your journey and not feel pressured.
These due dates give you something to measure your progress against. They’ll help to motivate you, as well as allowing for adjustments to be made as necessary.
Setting deadlines allows you to break things down so that you don’t become overwhelmed. Reaching your goal of home ownership, for example, will feel much less daunting if you can envision it in workable chunks and see how it can reasonably be accomplished one step at a time.
Making a plan for reaching your goals doesn’t have to be difficult. Creating a framework for reaching big dreams is a great way to make them manageable and enjoyable!

Goal Tip #9 - A Small Step Can Be Your Giant Leap!
Discover the Energy of Small Actions
Quote: “That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.”
—Neil Armstrong
One of the hardest parts of goal setting is simply getting started. It can be hard to move in a positive direction if you feel mired in emotions like insecurity, fear or uncertainty.
However, once you begin something, you usually find that it’s easier to keep going. That’s why it’s important to take that first step. Keep reading, and I’ll give you some helpful tips to do just that.
Why Can’t I Get Started?
There are a wide variety of reasons that could be underlying your inability to get started. In order to overcome them, you must first identify what it is in particular that’s holding you back.
• Sheer overwhelm is a common obstacle when it comes to making progress toward goals. Sometimes you have too many goals and don’t know which one to start with. Or your goal may seem too big to handle.
• Fear, insecurity and worry also make it hard to take any action at all toward your goals.
• Sometimes practical issues such as lack of funds or lack of time may be barriers.
• Another all-too-common scenario is finding yourself stuck in everyday matters, unable to find the motivation to move forward.
An Inspiring Step
The question still remains, “How do I take the first step toward my goal?” While it may seem simplistic, my response would be to tell you to just take one small action toward getting started. Do one thing, no matter how tiny.
Take a look back at the step-by-step plans you made if you need inspiration. If you haven’t made any plans yet, do it now. Then choose just one item from your list.
Perhaps it’s making a phone call to gain much-needed information, or maybe it’s setting up an appointment. Just that one action is likely to spur you on toward taking other actions toward reaching your goal. That’s why a small step can be a great leap if it spurs your momentum.
Make a habit of reviewing your goals, knowing that creating this new habit will require practice. But you’ll soon begin to build acceleration, and each step will move you closer to the success you seek.
One of the most important things to keep in mind is not to wait. There will never be a perfect time to get started. Waiting until you have the skills, money or courage to get started is a definite way to ensure you never reach your goal.
Leap the Hurdles!
Once you take that first step, things will get easier. That doesn’t mean there won’t still be difficulties or hurdles. Obstacles that kept you from taking a first step can also crop up once you gain some momentum. You can overcome them, though, and keep going strong.
Work to figure out what’s deterring you at any point on your journey:
• What’s making you fearful?
• What bad habits are preventing you from moving ahead?
• What do you need to change in your schedule?
Review some of the previous Goal Tips. Finding the answers to these and other practical issues can help you leap the hurdles and also provide the insight and motivation you need to continue moving ahead.
Getting started toward reaching your goals can be challenging. Taking just one small action will begin to get you unstuck. Give it a try and see just how powerful that small step can be!

Goal Tip #10 - Keep Moving!
You Are On Your Way – Every Day
Previously, we talked about taking that all-important first step toward reaching your goals.
Just getting started can be difficult, but maintaining progress can also be a huge stumbling block for many of us.
One of the ways I’ve found to overcome this problem is to take at least one positive action every day.
Doing just one small thing daily toward your goals has a number of benefits and can truly be a powerful habit.
Read on to discover what this practice can do for you.
1 Prevents Overwhelm
Focusing on one big goal can be intimidating for anyone. That’s why I’ve recommended planning and breaking things down into steps.
Part of that process involves doing little things along the way to reach the bigger reward at the end.
Working toward your goal every day will help you to avoid the overwhelm that causes many people to give up.
2 Identifies the Block
If you get started and you’re finding it difficult to complete just these small steps each day, there’s probably an underlying reason.
It’s important to identify what’s causing you distress in order to overcome this blockage. Otherwise, you might allow it to derail your progress.
• Perhaps your reluctance is telling you that this isn’t really the goal that’s right for you.
• Maybe it’s a particular nagging fear that’s holding you back.
• Perhaps your lifestyle will not support working on this goal.
Figure it out so you can adjust your plan and continue your success journey.
3 Gets You into the Groove
You might discover that it’s simply difficult to get yourself into the mindset of completing something new each day. You have reviewed the Victory points and deep down you know you’re on the right track.
But starting something new can feel foreign. This is perfectly normal. It takes practice to get into the groove.
Once you’ve determined that you’re pursuing the right goal for you, push past the discomfort until these new actions become a habit. This can take a month or two, so don’t give up.
Track It!
As you go along your practice of implementing one action each day toward reaching your goal, don’t forget to assess your progress regularly.
Decide how frequently you will review and analyze your plan. This could be each evening before bed or weekly or monthly, depending on the goal you have in mind.
What’s important is that you keep track regularly of how well you’re moving toward your desired intention and that you make adjustments as needed.
Don’t forget: When you keep moving forward on a daily basis, you’re on track to reach your goals!
